It is true that the majority of the Instagram population are of a young age, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t elders using the awesome photo sharing network too. Take Baddie Winkle for example, Baddie is 86 years old and her unique photos have gathered a following of 735,000 people.
Baddie is the newest senior model to be the face of Dimepiece’s new swimsuit campaign. Dimepiece is a brand of streetwear that targets Festival goers.
Dimepiece recently posted on their Instagram talking about their newest “state of mind” campaign, and they said; “the brand has always stood for timeless female empowerment and continues to encourage this mind-set in their newest campaign.” and that just goes to show that you don’t need to be a super young, size 0 waist to make it in the fashion and modelling world, or even to get super famous on Instagram.
The swimming wears shoot which was photographed by Nikko La Mere, show Baddie Winkle posing beside a pool and playing with some tasty pineapples, as well as drinking a nice cold beer. The brand is all ready to make a big step with their campaign as they will be buying advertising space on a large billboard at the Indio highway exit, California, throughout the festival season.
Dimepiece isn’t the first brand to market in this manner, it is actually a growing trend of marketing, using older women in their visual marketing campaigns. Recently such brands as L’Oreal Paris, Saint Laurent and Mac Cosmetics have all recently launched campaigns with 70+ year old women on the forefronts.
